Allene Jo Schultz, age 83, of Granger, went to be with the Lord on March 19, 2025. She was born on July 13, 1941, in Marion, Kansas, to the late Leo and Margaret (Jost) Goentzel. On January 27, 1962, she married the love of her life, Delmer Schultz in Wichita, Kansas, and they recently celebrated 63 years of marriage.
Allene was a devoted homemaker but also filled her life selling Avon products and Longaberger baskets. She had a passion for decorating her home and was an avid collector of snowmen and Longaberger baskets, filling her home with her treasured collections. Due to Delmer’s job and their love for adventure and travel, the Schultz family moved 25 times, living in 12 different states and one Canadian province over their 63 years together. Despite their many moves, she always found a way to create a warm and welcoming home and become an integral part of the community around them!
A woman of deep faith, Allene was involved in and led Women’s Bible studies at every church she attended. She had a generous heart, always putting others first, and was known for her steady and calm demeanor. She celebrated the victories of those around her, always offering love, support, and encouragement. She had a way of making each lady feel like she was her favorite person!!!
Allene is survived by her loving husband, Delmer, and their daughter, Debra Schultz of Chesapeake, Virginia. She is also survived by her daughters-in-law, Lucy Schultz of Granger, Indiana, and Stephanie Heustis of Fort Collins, Colorado. Her legacy continues through her 10 grandchildren—Emily, Alex, Mackenzie, Micala, Katelyn, Hannah, Joseph, Naomi, Victor, and Violet, and her 5 great-grandchildren, Keldyn, Aria, Isaiah, Ezekiel, and Thea. Additionally, she is survived by her siblings, Leroy (Norma) Goentzel and Jane (Robert) Eitzen, her sister-in-law, Sandra Goentzel, and numerous nieces and nephews. Allene was welcomed into Heaven by her sons, Michael Schultz and Jeffrey Schultz, who preceded her in death, as well as her siblings, Charles Goentzel and Judith Diane Goentzel.
