Austin C Carter

December 16, 1993 — September 27, 2024

Elkhart

Austin Charles Carter, age 30, went to be with the Lord on September 27, 2024.  Austin was born December 16, 1993, in South Bend, Indiana and was a graduate of Jimtown High School, class of 2012.  Austin was a dedicated employee at Carter's Flooring, where he proudly followed in his father’s footsteps. A proud member of Local Union 413, he was known not only for his hard work but also for his kindness, generosity, and caring nature.
He is survived by his parents, Sam and Venus (Geier) Carter and his son, Jace Austin Carter.  Surviving as well are his sisters, Abigayle Carter of Boston, Massachusetts, Samantha “Belle” Carter, and Maleana Swaenepoel, both of Elkhart.  Surviving as well is the mother of his son, Victoria “Tori” Dillenbeck and her family. Austin had a wonderful relationship with his entire family, especially his mother, who was his rock. Much like every other aspect of his life, Austin loved with reckless abandon and his love for others extended to everyone lucky enough to know him.
Austin was a long-time member of the American Motocross Association, devoting over 25 years to the sport he loved. Austin’s commitment to his work was matched only by his passion for dirtbike racing. He began racing at the age of 4, making a name for himself as number 765. He competed at tracks across the Midwest, often racing alongside his father, Sam, and his son, Jace.
He was adventurous, approaching life “full tilt” at 100%, with no fear in his quest for excitement. His adventurous spirit was mirrored in his love for playing video games and spending quality time with his sisters, whom he loved and adored.
A man of deep faith, Austin was a cherished member of Osceola Grace Church from an early age. He frequently participated in mission trips to Haiti, where he found great joy in serving the people and making a difference in their lives. Haiti held a special place in his heart, reflecting his commitment to helping those in need.
Visitation will be held from 3:00pm-6:30 pm Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Osceola Grace Church, with a celebration of life service to follow at 6:30.  Cruz Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with his care.
