BETTY J. JONES BRAGG JANUARY 8, 1937 - JANUARY 2, 2015 ELKHART- Betty J. Jones Bragg, 77, of Elkhart passed away on Friday January 2, 2015 at her home. She was born Jan. 8, 1937 in Auburn, KY to the late Carlisle & Beatrice Pauline (Collins) Haley. On Jan. 5, 1952 she married Lon E. Jones. He preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1978. She then married Columbus Bragg on Dec. 29, 1978. He preceded her in death on Oct. 22, 2013. Surviving are six children, Peggy Freeze, Christina (Victor) Mann, Nancy (Randy) Ebright, Caroline Felts, Brenda Jones, Shirley (Kenny) Hayes, Shiela (Jim) Steinke all of Elkhart; twentyfive grandchildren; thirtythree great-grandchildrenand two great great grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters, Elna Kay (Victor) Miller of Elkhart, Wanita Haley Stafford, June Haley Snell, Wanda Haley Lay all of Kentucky and three brothers, Dale, David and Danny Haley all of Kentucky. She was preceded in death by three sons, Lon, Glenn, Robert Jones; a daughter, Gayle Tyler; a grandson Michael Steinke; a brother, James Haley and two sisters, Dorothy Haley Tinsley and Linda Nusbaum. Betty was a homemaker and a member of the Victory Chapel Church. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, needlepoint, going out to eat and making homemade strawberry jam. but most of all she loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Zimmerman-Inman Funeral Home in Osceola. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday January 7, 2015 at the funeral home. Pastor Victor Burson from Northside Church of the Nazarene will preside and burial will follow in Olive (West) Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the National Kidney Foundation.
