Betty Lou (Smith) Jimerson

June 30, 1940 — October 30, 2020

Mishawaka

Betty Lou Jimerson, age 80, passed away Friday, October 30, 2020 at Golden Living Center in Mishawaka.  Betty was born June 30, 1940 in Rochester, Indiana to the late Clarence and Wilma (Zortman) Smith.

Surviving are her children William Paul Bennett and Brian Keith Bennett, both of Mishawaka and Pam (Ed) Hahaj of Nappanee.  Also surviving are her sisters Paulette Smith and Kay Johnson, both of Niles, Michigan.  Surviving as well are her grandchildren Sarah Bennett, Amanda Bennett, Jackie Whitmer, Travis Bennett, Carl Bennett, Trevor Bennett, Desiree Bennett, Mark Bennett, Brian Bennett Jr., Phillip Bennett, Rickey Stemm Jr, Joseph Hahaj and Kayley Graber, along with several great-grandchildren.  Betty was preceded in death by her son Alfred Bennett Jr. and her sisters Annie Flory, Sue Brandenberg, and Jean Schaffer.

Betty’s family has chosen to remember her privately.  There will be no formal services at this time.  Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Osceola is assisting with the arrangements.

Betty was employed for several years at Burcliff Industries in Mishawaka.  In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling in leagues with her daughter Pam, playing BINGO, and sewing needlepoint.

Most of all, Betty loved spending time with her family, especially when her children would make her a pineapple upside down cake.
