Betty “Rosie” Warner, age 98, of Osceola, Indiana, passed away at 9:30am on Monday, March 25", 2024, at her home with her family. She was born in Elkhart, Indiana on June 19, 1925, to William C and Ruth (Inks) Morgan. Rosie graduated from Concord High School, Class of 1948, and pursued a career as a Hair Stylist. She put herself through beautician school and shortly thereafter she opened her own beauty salon in Elkhart called the Marietta Beauty Salon. In 1950, she married Joseph S. Warner in Elkhart. They were married 68 years until Joe's death in 2018.
Following their marriage, Rosie sold her beauty shop she built and donated her services full time to Warner Funeral Home that her husband Joe, and his brother, Ned built in Osceola. Joe and Rosie retired in 1986.
Rosie's passions were her family. She was a very devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother. She always spoke highly of all of them. As a matter of fact, she never had a bad thing to say about anyone. She was a fixture at the O.C. Cafe and Bravo Cafe in Osceola for years and loved the time she spent with her friends there. She was preceded in death, along with her parents and husband, Joe, by a daughter, Ruth Ann Warner, and the many pets throughout the years that she loved which are too numerous to list.
She is survived by her children, Lynn (Butch) Winkler of Land-O- Lakes, Florida and Mark A (Sue) Warner of Osceola. Also surviving are four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.
Visitation for Rosie will be held from 4-7 pm Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Cruz Family Funeral Home, 1109 Lincolnway West, Osceola, Indiana, and one hour prior to the 11:00am funeral service on Friday, March 29, 2024. Following the funeral, Rosie will be laid to rest beside her husband Joe at Olive Cemetery West in Elkhart.
