Brian Edward May, 65, of Osceola passed unexpectedly at home on Saturday, January 18, 2025. He was born in South Bend on August 4, 1959, to the late David, Sr. and Betty J. (Wiese) May, and later married Jolene Miller-May on August 17, 2024. She survives, along with his son, Geremy May of Hohenwald, TN, and his stepchildren Marlena and Jordan (Charity) Watson, both of Nappanee, and Christopher Watson, at home. Brian’s two brothers, Gary and David (Joelyn), Jr. also survive.
Brian, a proud 1978 graduate of Penn High School, dedicated nearly 40 years in the grocery business as a store manager at multiple Publix locations in the southern states and as a dairy manager at Nappanee Martin’s Grocery before retiring in September 2023. He loved serving others and helping in any way he could, including driving for Uber, where he enjoyed meeting new people and often considered them friends. Brian found joy in golfing, bowling, and cheering on Notre Dame football. In his free time, he delighted in baking cookies, earning the affectionate nickname “the cookie man” from family and friends. Above all, Brian cherished his family and his faith. His deep and profound relationship with Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of his life.
A time to visit with family and friends is scheduled for Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 4-8pm at Cruz Family Funeral Home, Osceola. A funeral service will follow on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 11 am at Nappanee Missionary Church, Nappanee. Burial will follow at Olive cemetery.
