Charles “Dan” Davis, 71, of Jones, Michigan, passed away from long term illness on December 31, 2024, with his wife Linda, by his side.

Born on July 27, 1953, in Elkhart, Indiana, Dan graduated from Jimtown High School in 1972. After graduation, he spent 15 years in the recreational vehicle industry and owned various business-related ventures.

Dan is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Linda Mast; his children, Bronson (Kristina), Rachel Davis; His mother Wanda Walker, and his grandchildren, Aleya, and Emilia. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard D. Davis and his brothers, Richard and Mitchell Davis.

Dan was known for his generosity, his love of old tractors, and his dedication to Vernor’s ginger ale. He loved playing chess, and his sharp thinking showed in every game. He was an avid gardener and spent many happy hours tending to his tomatoes. Dans humor and sarcasm will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A viewing will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola, Indiana. An additional hour of viewing will take place on Saturday, January 11, 2025, prior to the 11:00 AM funeral service. During the eulogy for Dan, the family would like for those in attendance to share a short story or a memory of Dan’s life. Following the funeral service, a short procession will take place to Olive Cemetery West where Dan will be laid to rest. 

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Heart Association.

Dan will be remembered for his enduring love and his unwavering commitment to his family and friends. “To live in the hearts of the ones we leave behind is to never to die.”
