Charles L. “Chuck” Hamlin, age 71 of Osceola passed away September 19, 2017 after battling a long-term illness. Chuck was born February 26, 1946. He later graduated from Jimtown High School in 1964. On October 30, 1988, he married Marsha Simrell in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He is survived by his wife Marsha, along with their daughter Courtney and their granddaughter McKenna, all of Osceola. Also surviving are his sisters Sandy (Bud) Collins of Elkhart and Heather (Mitch) Zahno of Ransomville, New York, his brothers Tom Hamlin of New Hampshire and Brett (Jennifer) Thompson of Bristol. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Helen Thompson, an infant son Justin William, his brother Ronnie Hamlin and his sister Colleen Willits.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting with the arrangements.
Chuck served honorably in the United States Air Force and worked for Stone Container as a truck driver where he retired after 30 years of employment. He was a lifelong resident of the Michiana area. Chuck enjoyed singing, and participated in several singing competitions while in school. He later sang in a band after high school. Most of all, Chuck enjoyed spending time with his Granddaughter. He was loved by all and will be missed by many.
