Columbus E. "Kriss" Bragg December 28, 1931 - October 22, 2013
ELKHART- Columbus E. "Kriss" Bragg, 81, of Elkhart, passed away at 10:52 a.m. Tuesday October 22, 2013 at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born Dec. 28, 1931 in Beckley, West Virginia to William & Gladys (Adkins) Bragg. On December 28, 1978 in Elkhart he married Betty J. (Haley) Jones. She survives along with 6 children, Brenda Jones, Peggy Freeze, Nancy (Randy) Ebright, Caroline (Charles) Felts, Shiela (James) Steinke, Shirley (Kenny) Hayes all of Elkhart; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Johnny (Frances) Bragg of Akron, OH; 4 sisters, Annie Sanchez of Akron, OH, Margaret (Roy) Bennett of Berrien Springs, MI, Hattie (Jay) Bennett of Shady Springs, WV and Margie of Beckley, WV. He was preceded in death by 1 sister, Betty Bragg, his parents, 4 children, Lon Jones, Glenn Jones, Robert Jones, Gayle Tyler and a grandson, Michael Steinke. Kriss was a former member of the VFW and was a US army veteran serving in Korea. He enjoyed working in his yard, fishing and most of all spending time with the light of his life, his granddaughter Kylie. Kriss retired in 2007 from Godfrey Marine where he worked for 30 years. Visitation for family and friends will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday and from Noon till 1:00 p.m. Monday at Zimmerman-Inman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday October 28, 2013 at the funeral home. Rev. Johnny Lawson from the Victory Chapel will preside and burial will follow in Olive Cemetery where the Elkhart DAV and the US Army Honor Guard will render military honors.
