Craig Charles Weisweaver, age 75 of Osceola, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Creekside Village of Mishawaka. Craig was born June 18, 1949, in Mishawaka, Indiana to the late Robert and Kathryn (Sheets) Weisweaver. He was a graduate of Penn High School where he excelled in baseball. Throughout his life, he remained a dedicated sports fan, passionately following Notre Dame football and women’s basketball, all Penn High sports, and his beloved Chicago Cubs and New York Yankees. But more than anything, Craig was his grandchildren’s biggest cheerleader, always there to support them in their athletic pursuits.
He is survived by his children Jenny (Travis) Kemble of Mishawaka, Rob Weisweaver of Castle Rock, Colorado, and Bryan (Tammy) Weisweaver of Granger, along with his grandchildren whom he adored; Kenzie Weisweaver, Keighla Exum, Hunter Exum, Shemar Weisweaver, Avery Weisweaver and Samuel Weisweaver. Surviving as well is his brother Mark (Dee) Weisweaver of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his sister and her husband, Kelly and Michael Harlacher.
Friends may visit from 5-7pm Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola. Following the time of visitation, a celebration of Craig’s life will begin at 7pm. Craig will be laid to rest beside his parents in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens of Osceola at noon on Friday, August 16, 2024.
Craig adored his grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to spoil them. He cherished their visits, whether they were enjoying junk food together at the county fair or catching up on the phone about life and sports. Even when his family lived abroad, Craig made sure to visit and be a part of their lives, with a memorable trip to Japan standing out among his adventures.
He was known for his meticulous nature, especially when it came to keeping his yard in pristine condition. Everything Craig did was done with care and attention to detail. It was not uncommon to see him with a Diet Coke in hand, always organized and prepared.
Above all, Craig was immensely proud of his family, and he never hesitated to show them just how much he loved them. His unwavering support, love, and the joy he found in being with his family will be dearly missed.
