Daniel Dean Robinson

Daniel Dean Robinson, Sr., 91, passed away peacefully in his home at 10:02 pm, Sunday, February 12, 2023.  Dan was born on January 26, 1932 in Mishawka to Everett and Charlotte (Shipton) Robinson. On June 30, 1956, he married JoAnn Voorde.

Dan is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn of Mishawaka; four children, Dan (Rhonda) Robinson of Valparaiso, Michael (Jo Ellen Bell-Drallette) Robinson of Mishawaka, Maureen (Dave) Piazza of Mentor, OH and Dawn Robinson of Mishawaka; 10 grandchildren, Jessica (Chad) Geurts, Sarah Robinson, Jake (Jacky) Robinson, Aubrey Robinson, Gabe Robinson, Adrienne Robinson, Alex Piazza, Brent Piazza, Mallory Robinson, Alexis Shock, and many great grandchildren.

Dan proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1960.  He was well known in the Osceola and surrounding communities, as he coached and umpired both baseball and softball for over 40 years. He also was a referee for many high school sports and was inducted into the Indiana High School Hall of Fame.  Some of his accomplishments include being selected to umpire in the boys Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA and the girls Little League World Series in Portland, OR.  Dan loved watching Notre Dame Football and was an usher for 8 years.

Per his wishes, cremation will take place.  A memorial visitation will take place from 1:00-4:00 pm, Saturday, February 18, 2023, in Cruz Family Funeral Home, 1109 Lincolnway West, Osceola, IN 46561. Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions to be made to Penn Park OBSA, P.O Box 70, Osceola, IN 46561, home of the Osceola baseball softball association.
