Daphine Lori Shaffer-Weaver

Daphine Lori Shaffer-Weaver, age 54 of Osceola, passed away Friday, February 15, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka.  Daphine was born January 28, 1965 in South Bend, Indiana.   She attended Mishawaka High School and was employed for many years as an office manager at Custom Awning in Osceola.

Surviving is her longtime companion Edward Krawiec of South Bend and her siblings Jacqueline Beals and her husband Doug of Osceola, John Shaffer and his wife Gita of San Fransisco, California, and Bill Barnett of Osceola.  Also surviving are her nieces and nephews Jessica Coussens, Heather Warner, Angela Rydzinski, Zackorie Barnett and Tiffany Barnett. Surviving as well are her great nieces and nephews Ryan, Logan, Paige, Alyssa, Jordan and Ellie.  Daphine is also survived by seven great-great nieces and nephews.   Preceding her in death was her father Boris Stavroff, her mother Damaris (Parr) Shaffer and her sister Linda Mize.

There will be 2 hours of visitation prior to the 7:00 pm Celebration of Life service on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola.  Following her wishes, Daphine will be cremated and interment will be held at a later date.

Daphine was an amazing cook who loved classic rock music, playing BINGO and playing video games with friends on her phone.

Though she had no children of her own, Daphine’s gift of selflessness allowed her to care for not only all of her nieces and nephews, but her parents and extended family as well.  Her nurturing nature allowed her to treat her sibling’s children as if they were her own.
