Dave worked at Forest River, Cardinal Division for 18 years, and later retired from Clayton Homes in 2017. Throughout his career, Dave earned the respect and admiration of both his superiors and colleagues.
Dave's passion for sports was evident in every aspect of his life. He enjoyed coaching his sons in baseball and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears. His love for sports extended to his granddaughters' softball games, where he was their biggest cheerleader. Additionally, Dave found great joy in the excitement of the local racing circuit, cheering on his son "Matty D," a familiar figure to everyone at the track.
Outside of sports, Dave loved spending time outdoors. He loved gardening, hunting, fishing, and finding peace and happiness on the land where he built his home. His friendly and warm personality earned him the nickname "Bubba," and he was known for his signature "Bubba Hugs," which he shared generously with family and friends.
Most of all, Dave was deeply spiritual and had a profound love for the Lord. He openly shared his faith, hoping to bring the same peace he found in trusting Jesus to others. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him in all his decisions.
