David L. Jones

David Lee Jones, age 84 of Granger, went to be with the Lord in the early hours of July 5, 2023.  David was born October 19, 1938, in LaPorte Indiana to the late Ralph Waldo Jones and the late Irma Lucille (Little) Jones.  He was a graduate of Laporte High school and worked many years in the Banking Industry.

He is survived by the Mother of his children Ginny Jones, his daughters Allison (Joe) Bishop of Granger and Maggie (Mike) Norris of Mishawaka, and five granddaughters: Lola, Pippa, Lucy, Ellie, and Rosie.

In accordance with David’s wishes there will be a private service with the immediate family at a later date. Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care has been entrusted with his arrangements.

If you knew David, you knew his love of Notre Dame and how much he loved watching the Football and Women’s Basketball games over the years.  He loved being outside whether it was golfing or taking care of the yard, garden, or house.  As long as he was spending time with the family, chatting with good friends and enjoying good food it was always a fun time.  He even found enjoyment while debating politics and different topics with many different people.

David’s heart was full of love for his daughter's families and his granddaughters.  He cherished every milestone and moment that they all shared.  Family gatherings were filled with togetherness and the bond that the granddaughters had with their grandpa knew no bounds.  Doughnut Fridays with all his granddaughters were the highlight of his week for over 8 years no matter where he lived. David was very proud of all the accomplishments that his family and the girls made.
