Dennis M. Perry

Dennis M. Perry, age 88, of Elkhart passed away peacefully at the Hospice House of Elkhart County of Friday, July 24, 2015. The Washington, Indiana native was born December 9, 1926 to the late Sam and Adaline (Birch) Perry. He enlisted in the US Army in 1945, and served honorably during the World War II and Korean War era. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Maxine Perry in 1992. He later married Donna Sue (Schott) Germann on Feb. 12, 2011 in Elkhart, Indiana.
Donna survives, along with his children Paula (Bill) Greene of South Bend, Cheryl (Michael) Scott of Osceola, Debbie (Randy) Heeter of Mishawaka, Pam (Mike) Cabanaw of South Bend, and Rodney (Lesley) Perry of Osceola. Also surviving are his step-daughters, Susan (Bob) Davis and Diane Reese, both of Elkhart, and his daughter-in-law, Mary Perry of Osceola. Surviving as well are 28 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Dennis was preceded in death by his sons Denny Lee Perry and Roy Perry, and his step son Rick Bowen, as well as his siblings Donald, Lee, Betty and Hazel.
Dennis was the former owner of D&D Food Market for several years. He was then employed for many years in production and management at Champion Motor Coach until his retirement. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, taking care of his lawn, and working on cars, as well as spending time watching Westerns on TV. He was also a longtime member of Bremen Bible Church, Bremen, Indiana.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Monday, July 27, 2015 at Zimmerman-Inman Funeral Home in Osceola. There will also be one hour prior to the noon funeral service on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Zimmerman-Inman Funeral Home, and interment and Military Honors will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
