Donna Lynne Lee

Donna Lynne Lee, age 64, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 8, 2025, surrounded by her family at home in Granger. She was born on March 17, 1960, in Niles, Michigan, to Chester and Shirley (Speckem) Cylke. Following Chester’s death, Shirley married Terry Meyers, who helped raise Donna from the age of 6. Donna was a 1978 graduate of Dowagiac High School and later attended Western Michigan College before earning her bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Texas at Arlington. She went on to teach Physical Education for 30 years, most recently in the Brandywine School system. She retired in 2021, leaving behind a legacy of love and commitment to the students who meant so much to her.

Donna was incredibly active and athletic, with a deep love for sports and the outdoors. She enjoyed playing pickleball, going for walks- especially on the beach, and taking bike rides. Gardening brought her joy, and she took pride in planting flowers and tending to her yard. She and Phil shared a passion for traveling, exploring places like England, Branson Missouri, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and many other destinations across the United States. Some of her most treasured memories were her “Sister’s Trips” with Diane and Teia, which took them to beautiful places like Missouri, Arizona, Florida, and Hawaii.

Her warm and outgoing personality meant she never met a stranger—she was always making new friends wherever she went. Donna’s faith in the Lord was unwavering, and it guided every aspect of her life. She was a dedicated member of New Life Church, where she taught Sunday School and participated in Bible Study Fellowship groups for many years.

On July 1, 2006, Donna married Philip J. Lee at New Life Church in Osceola. They recently celebrated 18 years of marriage, building a life filled with love and devotion. Phil survives, along with his children, Timothy Lee, Deanna (Scott) Sherman, Michael (Katie) Lee, and Matt Young. Donna is also survived by her sisters, Diane (Patrick) Stauffer of South Bend and Teia (Kelly) Adams of Dowagiac. She leaves behind her stepfather Terry Meyers, her special aunt, Kay (Mike) Hall, several grandchildren and her beloved nephews, Joshua Meyers, Austin Adams, and Aaron Adams. She was preceded in death by her father, Chester Cylke, her mother Shirley Meyers, and her brother, Terry Shawn Meyers.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the 11:00 AM funeral service on Friday, February 14, 2025, at New Life Church (11593 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN 46561). Following the service, Donna will be laid to rest in Olive Cemetery West.
