Douglas Charles Keber

Douglas Charles Keber, age 64 of Mishawaka passed away at his home on Tuesday, November 28, 2017.  Doug was born August 29, 1953 in Gross Pointe, Michigan to the late Richard J. and Eleanor A. (Klaus) Keber.  Doug graduated from Elkhart High School in 1971, and later attended IUSB.  On November 30, 1972, he married LaDonna Chittenden in Sturgis, Kentucky.

LaDonna survives, along with their daughters Kim (Micheal) Paradine of Granger and Leslie (Dallas) Stevens of Newport Richey, Florida.   Also surviving are four grandchildren; Hannah Paradine, Corey Richard, Gage Stevens and Caleb Stevens.  Doug is survived as well by his siblings Cathy (Norm) Melser, Nancy (Bob) Huber, Jeff (Patsy) Keber, and his sister in law Nancy Keber.  Doug was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Steve Keber.

Visitation will be held from 10am- 12pm on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Osceola with Pastor Norm Melser conducting the Celebration of Doug’s life at 12pm.

Doug was employed as a welder at Dodge Reliance Manufacturing until 1999, and later became a service technician at Hobart Foods until his retirement in 2013.  Outside of work, he enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing and gardening. He was especially proud of his rose bushes.   Doug was also an avid sports fan who coached his daughters in Osceola Little League and followed the Detroit Tigers and Indianapolis Colts. He also enjoyed playing BINGO and spending time with his family.  Doug was also a supporter of the Penn High School Marching Kingsmen, serving as a part of the marching band’s pit crew and supporting his daughter in her band competitions.
