Earl Richard Ulrich

Earl Richard Ulrich, age 85 of Osceola, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka. Earl was born April 16, 1931 in Shelbyville, Illinois to the late Andrew and Ella (Unzicker) Ulrich. On June 6, 1959, he married Mattie R. Miller in Arthur, Illinois.

Surviving is his wife of 57 years, Mattie Ulrich and their daughter Sharon Rae (Ryan) Minnich of Wintersville, Ohio. Also surviving are three granddaughters, Kristen Lyn Minnich, Kimberly Ann (Jeff) Swygart, and Kari Beth Minnich, along with his sister Esther Ulrich of Eureka, Illinois. Earl was preceded in death by his daugthers Judy Ann and Lyn Marie Ulrich, nine brothers, and one sister.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Zimmerman Inman Funeral Home in Osceola. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the 11:00 am funeral service on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at St. Mark Missionary Church, 55240 Bittersweet Road, Mishawaka, Indiana 46545. Interment will follow in California Road Cemetery, Elkhart.

Earl was employed as a finish carpenter for over 53 years and retired from Oakbrook Homes. He and his wife also owned Osceola Cleaners & Alterations for many years.

He was an excellent woodworker who enjoyed carving and creating fine wood projects for his family and friends. He and his wife Mattie loved to travel by motorhome, and visited 49 states as well as Mexico and Canada. Earl was also a longtime member of St. Mark Missionary Church in Mishawaka where he served humbly and volunteered for many projects throughout the years.
