Earnest Milford Scott, age 88 of Mishawaka, passed away at Creekside Village Nursing Home on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. Earnest was born October 14, 1932 in Lauderdale, Alabama to the late Stanley and Valleree (Joiner) Scott. On December 10, 1949, he married Evelyn Barrier in Corinth, Mississippi. She preceded him in death.
Surviving are his children Linda (Julius) Fleming of Mishawaka, Elizabeth Scott of Elkhart, and Randy Scott of Alabama. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and his siblings Dorothy, Berti Mae, Ervin, Ruby, Carolyn and Lyndon. Preceding him in death were his children Larry Scott in 1972 and Alice Tuckey in 2014 and his siblings Melvin, Josie, Joyce Garland and Donnie as well as two infant siblings.
There will be no services for Earnest at this time. Cruz Family Funeral Home an Cremation Service is assisting with the arrangements.
Earnest was employed for many years as a Union Pipefitter, retiring from Armco-Contech Construction in 1994. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and gardening. Earnest always stayed busy in his off time and loved playing cards and dominoes with his family and friends. As a member of the Steelworker’s Union, he had the opportunity to travel the US attending classes to learn more about his trade. One project he was extremely proud to be a part of was building the large pipes for the waterfall scene in the 1993 film “The Fugitive” starring Harrison Ford.
