Frank Donald Miles Jr.

Frank Donald Miles Jr., age 89 of Nappanee, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, January 10, 2020.  Frank was born April 12, 1930 in Elkhart County to the late Frank Sr. and Ruth (James) Miles.  Following high school, Frank enlisted in the US Army where he served honorably in Germany during the Korean War era.

Surviving are his sons Charles “Chuck” Miles of Mishawaka, Indiana and Tom Miles of Three Rivers, Michigan.  Also surviving are two grandsons; Phillip and Donald Miles, and his sister, Carol Hany.  Frank is also survived by his longtime companion, Joan Hoffer of Nappanee.  He was preceded in death by his  step-son Bernd Miles and his siblings Barbara Kelver, Helen Benjamin and Margaret Coffman.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 om – 3:00 pm on Monday, January 13, 2020 at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola.  Cremation will follow and Frank will be scattered by his favorite fishing spot.

Frank was employed for many years as an electrician at the CTS Corporation in Elkhart and served as a Union Bargaining Committee Representative for several years before his retirement.  He was also a longtime member of the Osceola Masonic Lodge # 742 F&AM.  In his spare time, Frank enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and hunting in the Robbins Lake area of Cass County, Michigan.
