Gage Owen Davis age 31, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at his home in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on Friday, April 19, 2024.  Gage was born on September 29, 1992, in Elkhart, Indiana.  Gage grew up in Osceola where he discovered his love for the game of baseball at the Osceola Little League Park, winning several championships throughout his youth. He later graduated from Penn High School, Class of 2011, where he was elected “Kingsman of the Year” by his teachers and fellow students who adored him. Also, while at Penn, Gage was a member of the Rugby team. Gage loved umpiring and he did so every summer while in high school at Penn Park, formerly known as the Osceola Little League. They all loved him and would request him to umpire.  He possessed the uncanny ability to endear himself to the students and faculty alike. Following his high school graduation, Gage enrolled at Purdue University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in 2016 in Hospitality and was a member of the Rugby team. Throughout his college career, Gage’s passion for sports remained unwavering.  Because of his dedication and expertise behind home plate, Gage was chosen to officiate games at the prestigious Cooperstown Little League World Series, a testament to his skills and commitment to Americas pastime.

He is survived by his mother, Debra Davis, his twin brother, Jordan Davis, his grandfathers, Jack Scott and Paul Davis; his aunts Marie (Steve) Garatoni and Terri Abbott and his cousins, Jeff Abbott, Lisa (Joe Massa) Garatoni, Ryan Garatoni, and Emily Garatoni. Gage was preceded in death by his grandmother Joyce Scott and his great grandmother Gertrude Beyers who no doubt welcomed him at the gates of Heaven with open arms.

Visitation will be held from 11:00am to 2:30 pm Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Michiana Community Church, 51637 Ash Rd, Granger, IN 46530 with funeral services following at 2:30pm.  Pastor Bob Vale of the Middlebury United Methodist Church will officiate the service and Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Osceola has been entrusted with his care. **For those out of our area, or unable to attend services on Saturday, Gage’s funeral service will be streamed in real time in the window below starting at 2:20pm EST.**

In his professional life, Gage was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering dedication. He held positions with the Target Corporation and the Levy Corporation before finding his calling as a purchasing agent for Dairy Queen. Gage’s professionalism, integrity and respect for his colleagues and superiors earned him the admiration of all who had the pleasure of working alongside him. Beyond his professional achievements, Gage was a man of many talents and passions. Gage and his friend Tyler Graham auditioned to be a performer for Madonna’s halftime show when Indianapolis hosted the Super Bowl in 2012. He not only got the part, but he was featured on television throughout the show! His hardworking nature was matched only by his willingness to embrace life’s adventures and his love and support for those he held dear, especially his twin brother, Jordan.

He approached every challenge with determination and never settled for anything less than his best. Whether he was on the field, in the office, or spending time with loved ones. Gage’s infectious spirit left a permanent mark on all who crossed his path. Gage was a man boundless energy and enthusiasm for life. Those who knew Gage will remember him as a caring friend who made connections effortlessly and enriched the lives of everyone he encountered. His love for life was contagious, and he gave his all -110%- to every project, relationship, and experience. Gage’s approach to life was characterized by his desire to never decline an opportunity for a wonderful experience.

He will be remembered for his kindness, his passion, and his commitment to excellence in all he did, and his legacy will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to know him.  In his memory, donations may be made to the Penn Rugby program or the Penn Park Little League to assist young players as they learn to love the game of baseball.  To light a virtual candle, share a story of Gage’s life, or leave a message of comfort for his family, please follow the links provided on the Tribute Wall Tab above.
