Greg Merl Wing, Sr., 83, of Osceola entered heavenly rest Wednesday morning, June 26, 2024. He was born in La Crosse, WI to the late James H. and Myrtle A (Evenson) Wing and later married Jacquelyn Duff in Osceola, on March 19, 1977.
She survives along with a son, Greg Wing, Jr. of Michigan, stepson Arthur G. Krop of Mishawaka, and stepdaughter, WaNina (Tim) Chamber of Bremen, IN. Five grandchildren, and seven great children also survive. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Terri Foor, and stepdaughter, Sueann Stein, and all 5 of his brothers, Zane, Lyle, Verl, Len, and Derle.
Greg proudly served in the US Army and was a member of the American Legion. He retired after a steadfast 30-year career as a truck driver for Holland Trucking. In his leisure time, he found joy in fishing, watching storms roll across the sky, and immersing himself in the History Channel, earning him the affectionate title of the family's weather and history enthusiast. Greg also loved watching NASCAR. Greg was also deeply devoted to his faith, facing death with courage and serenity, confident in his belief that he would enter a warm embrace with Jesus. His commitment to his spiritual life was evident in his active participation and membership at Cedar Road Missionary Church, where he found community and spiritual fulfillment.
A time to celebrate his life is scheduled for June 29, 2024, at Cruz Family Funeral Home, Osceola from 3-5p, with a service to follow at 5pm. Cremation will follow with a private family burial scheduled at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made me sent to Riley’s Children’s Hospital. To light a virtual candle, share a story of Greg’s life, or offer a message of comfort to his family, please visit the tribute tab.
