Gregg L. Featherstone, age 67 of Mishawaka, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his residence on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at BellTower Nursing Home. Gregg was born July 7, 1951 in Pontiac, Michigan to the late Max and Bette Jayne (Hartsoe) Featherstone. Following graduation from Grand Blanc High, Gregg attended Ferris State University. He later ventured to Alaska to work on the Alaskan Pipeline for several years before returning to the Midwest.
Surviving are his children Nick Featherstone of South Bend, Shannon Watson and her husband Todd of Osceola, and Heidi Hammes and her husband Dan of Granger. Gregg is also survived by five grandchildren; Samantha, Adelynn, and Harper Watson, and Owen and Finley Hammes. Surviving as well are his siblings Brent Featherstone and his wife Beverly, Kim Rambo and Meade Featherstone.
Services for Gregg will be held privately, and his wishes were to have his ashes scattered over Lake Michigan and in Georgia. Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting with the details of the service.
After spending time working on the Pipeline, Gregg moved back home and went into sales, where he finished his career as a car salesman in the Michiana area.
In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, playing golf, bowling and playing cards. He also liked to spend time at the casinos gambling, watching westerns on TV, and drinking ice cold water.
For those who knew him, Gregg was “one of a kind." Most of all, Gregg’s favorite thing in the world was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
