Hazel Irene Hartbarger, age 64, of Mishawaka, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Elkhart. Irene was born September 7, 1950 to the late Leander and Nora (Campbell) Rose in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. On August 25, 1967, she married William Franklin Hartbarger. Surviving is her husband William "Frank" Hartbarger of Mishawaka, and their daughters Tina (Tommy) Entinghe of Mishawaka and Tracey (Nathan) Mort of Osceola. She is also survived by six grandchildren; Cheyenne, Mikayla, Cody, Simon, Emma, and Gavin, as well as her great granddaughter, Gabriella. Surviving as well are her siblings; Delilah Calhoun, of South Whitley, Indiana, Sue (Jack) Shoemaker of Osceola, Catherine (Curt) Shepherd of Warsaw, Indiana, May (Talmage) Vance of Arizona, Ted (Janice) Rose of North Manchester, John (Martha) Rose of Mentone, Malcolm (Miriam) Rose of Ft. Wayne, Russell (Kathy) Rose of Claypool, and Bill (Karen) Rose of Silver Lake. She was preceded in death by her brothers Curtis Edward Rose and Leander "Bud" Rose Jr. Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Monday, April 13, 2015 at Victory Chapel Church, 30898 CR 20, Elkhart, Indiana. There will also be one hour of calling prior to the 10:00 am funeral service on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Victory Chapel Church. Pastor Larry Sonnenberg will preside, and interment will follow in Noffisinger Cemetery, Elkhart, Indiana. Zimmerman-Inman Funeral Home, Osceola Chapel is assisting with arrangements. Irene graduated in the early 1980's as a Licensed Practical Nurse, and worked for over 25 years in the Michiana area at nursing homes, Memorial Hospital, and in home health care before retiring in 1993 to care for her first grandchild. She was a dedicated and caring nurse who loved to help others in need, even while living at Golden Living Center. Her caring, considerate, kind and generous nature was ever present, and her one true love was spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She was a member of Victory Chapel Church, and enjoyed spending her free time crocheting, working crossword puzzles and collecting antiques.
