Helen Rosemary Deferbrache

Helen Rosemary DeFerbrache, age 82 of Elkhart, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at her home. Rosemary was born July 6, 1933 in Osceola, Indiana to the late Charles Bridges and Helen C. (Schneider) Kaiser. On August 10, 1952, she married Warren R. DeFerbrache.

Warren survives, along with their children Warren R. DeFerbrache Jr. of Wichita, Kansas, Michael C. (Marsha) DeFerbrache of Osceola, Deborah J. McClure of Goshen & Dawn R. (Anthony) Kline of Elkhart. Also surviving are five grandchildren; Deseri Young, Alicia McClure, Nicole (Johnathan) Warner, Justin DeFerbrache, and Joseph DeFerbrache, along with four great-grandchildren Nathan & Dianeira Young & Adelaide & Charlotte Warner. Surviving as well are her brothers Jerry C. (Barbara) Bridges of California and Bill Kaiser of Warren, Indiana. Rosemary was preceded in death by her brothers Jimmy & Kenny Bridges.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Friday, July 1, 2016 at Zimmerman-Inman Funeral Home in Osceola. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the 11:00 am funeral service on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at the Osceola United Methodist Church, 431 North Beech Road, Osceola with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Rosemary was employed for 19 years as a secretary for the Indiana State Employment Office, retiring in 1993. She was also a longtime member of the Osceola United Methodist Church, where she served many years as a soloist, Sunday school teacher, and sang in the church choir since the age of 14. She loved the outdoors, spending time ice skating, riding her bicycle, and in her younger years swimming as part of a synchronized swimmers club in South Bend.

In her memory, donations may be made to the Osceola United Methodist Church or Heartland Hospice.
