James Richard Byrnes Ii

James Richard Byrnes II, 42, of Elkhart died unexpectedly the morning of November 15, 2023. He was born September 4, 1981, to Brian William, Sr. and Margaret Hester (Golden) Byrnes in Bristol, PA. On July 21, 2023, he married Lisa Samuel in Key West, FL.

She survives along with their children; James Byrnes III, Aubrie (Adam) Davies, Everly Byrnes, Alyssa Samuel, and Issiac Samuel.  He leaves behind a brother Brian (Jenny) Byrnes, Jr., and several extended family members locally and in Pennsylvania.

James took great pride in being a hard worker and providing for his family, serving as a general manager at Gold & Diamonds Jewelry & Pawn, reserve officer for the North Liberty Police, and security for businesses around the region.  He was known as the “fix it” guy and always had the tools or knowledge to help anyone with almost everything. He had a unique sense of humor and would make everyone laugh, even at the most inappropriate times. Most importantly, James was ferociously loyal to his friends and family while being a devoted and loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle.

His family has chosen cremation at this time, with a private time to celebrate his beautiful life at a later date. Cruz Family Funeral Home has been entrusted to his care.
