Jason William Pressler, age 49 of Elkhart, passed away at home on Tuesday, November 29, 2022. Jason was born June 4, 1973, in Elkhart, Indiana. Following his graduation from Jimtown High School, Jason enlisted in the US Army where he served honorably for over 20 years until retiring as a Staff Sergeant. While enlisted, Jason served three separate tours in Afghanistan. His patriotism ran deep and he loved serving and leading his platoon. After his retirement, he went to work for United Pies in Elkhart.
Surviving are his children, Tyler (Stephanie) Pressler, Jason (Jolena Streetman) Pressler, Austin Pressler and Aaron Pressler, all of Elkhart, his father and stepmother, Ron (Jackie) Pressler of Goshen, and his brother John Matthew Spry. Surviving as well are 7 grandchildren: Heavaya Neumann, Jaydason Pressler, Aterniti Pressler, Trinity Pressler, Annalise Pressler, Kylea Pressler and Braxton Neumann. His mother, Margaret (Smith) Creiger, his brother Ronald G. Pressler, and his sister, Serena Bischoff, all preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held from 11am-1pm with funeral services to follow immediately after at 1pm on Friday, December 9, 2022, at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola. Interment and military honors will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
In his spare time, Jason designed and built custom bass guitars. He was also a gun enthusiast who and loved to build, repair, and restore guns, handcraft custom built holsters, and spend time out on the range shooting targets. He also enjoyed collecting and building model cars and watching the Detroit Red Wings play hockey.
Most of all, Jason loved being a dad and grandpa to his family. His sense of humor, quick wit, and friendly demeanor will be greatly missed.
