Jerry E. Rocole

November 25, 1945 — August 17, 2022

Mishawaka

Jerry Eugene Rocole, a great and honorable man that dearly loved his country and family, died August 17, 2022, in Lexington, Kentucky at the age of 76.  He was born in Marked Tree, Arkansas to the late Lawrence Eugene and Tressie Pearl (Wolf) Rocole on November 25,1945.

Jerry first honored his country and fellowman by joining boy scouts and achieving the highest rank in scouting, which is "Eagle Scout". Jerry proudly served, in the Army, during the Vietnam War. He often stated, "I'd do it all over again - it was my honor".

Jerry retired from Dodge Manufacturing when the company left Mishawaka, having worked there for 29 years. After retiring from Dodge, Jerry worked for Bayer in Elkhart. When Bayer moved out of the area Jerry took complete retirement. If Jerry wasn't at his main job, you could find him fixing cars in his pole barn. This was truly something he enjoyed. He helped his father and other Model A members' repair and paint many model A cars.

Jerry enjoyed his retirement. He had a trailer, on a camp site, in Ludington, Michigan where he fished all day, on some days. Literally he would get up at 4:00 am to go fish on Lake Michigan then go back and fish the lake at the campground. During the winter he and his wife were snowbirds in Florida.

Jerry was a volunteer fireman and EMT (emergency medical technician) for Harris Township, for many years.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Brenda (Rehmel) Rocole, his sister Sandra Stauffer of Mishawaka; children Lisa Rosansky (David) of Mishawaka, Brett (Dawn) of Mishawaka; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; Lawrence Eugene and Tressie Pearl Rocole, grandparents Wright and Nancy Wolf and George and Plemlie Rocole.

Visitation will be held from 11am-1:00pm Thursday, August 25, 2022, at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola.
