JOHN H. JERNIGAN March 17, 1931 - October 6, 2014
OSCEOLA- John H. Jernigan, 83, of Osceola, passed away at 1:18 a.m. Monday October 6, 2014 at his home. He was born March 17, 1931 in Winchester, Tennessee to the late Gilbert N. & Jamie E. (Stevens) Jernigan. On July 31, 1948 in Rossville, Georgia he married Murvine Kelley. She preceded him in death on March 28, 2012 in Osceola. Surviving are three children, Johnny Wayne ( Jo Ann) Jernigan of Ft. Wayne, IN, Edith Lucy Harris of Osceola, IN, Wanda (Randy) Fall of Constantine, MI; five grandchildren, Tammy (Stacey) Wilson of Elkhart, Eric Jernigan of Elkhart, James (Samantha) Harris of Osceola, Dale Harris of Osceola Wayne Clifton of Mishawaka; twelve great-grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. John is preceded in death by three brothers, Lloyd, Robert, Jay Jernigan and three sisters, Evelyn Capps, Jean Dotson and Beatrice Centrell. John worked for Jessen Manufacturing Company in Elkhart for 45 years as a machinist, retiring in 1966. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Mishawaka, enjoyed playing bingo and bowling. Friends may visit with the family for three hours prior to the 1:00 p.m. Friday October 10, 2014 funeral service at Zimmerman-Inman Funeral Home in Osceola. Pastor Leroy Deirth will preside and burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola. Memorial contributions may be given to the Church of God of Prophecy Food Bank or the Center for Hospice Care.
