John Thomas Mason

September 27, 1952 — May 21, 2017

John Thomas Mason, age 64, of Mishawaka, passed away after a short battle with cancer on Sunday, May 21, 2017, comfortably in his home surrounded by his family.
John was born September 27, 1952, in South Bend, Indiana, to Thomas and Ruth (Jacobson) Mason. He graduated from Penn High School and went on to the University of Wisconsin - Madison. He married Sandra Harris on November 27, 1971. He was the owner of Mason Printing Co. in Osceola and was very active in the Osceola Business Association. He loved music, sports, and reading about history. Some of his favorite teams were the Wisconsin Badgers, Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Blackhawks. He also enjoyed watching golf and tennis.

John is survived by his wife, Sandra; children, Andrew (Amy) Mason of Granger, Jay (Brandy) Mason of Seattle, WA, and Nicholas Mason of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; grandchildren, Ingrid and Greta (Andrew) Mason; sister, Linda Decatur of Mishawaka; and many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Thomas Mason, and sisters, Betsy Bishop and Tomi Mason.

John donated his body for study to the Indiana University School of Medicine. The family will have at time of visitation from 2-4 pm Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Osceola, follow by a celebration of John’s life at 4:00 pm.
