Joshua Allen Cabanaw

Joshua Allen Cabanaw, age 38, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Mishawaka on Friday, August 26, 2022.  Josh was born February 15, 1984, in South Bend and was a graduate of Mishawaka High School.

He is survived by his son Zach Cabanaw, his mother, Pamela S. West and his stepfather, Doug, his father Jeff (Debbie) McQueen, and his sister Brittany Deitrich, and his adopted sister, Wendy McQueen. Surviving as well is his maternal grandmother Zora Cabanaw, his paternal grandmother Cheri (Marty) Kopczynski, and his step grandfather Robert West.  Surviving as well is his girlfriend Sabrina Gaddey and his extended family.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola with funeral services immediately following at 7pm.

Josh was employed as a certified forklift operator in the Michiana area for several years. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He also had a natural kinship with animals and like many people he met, they were drawn to Josh.  Josh also was blessed as a talented artist, and he loved to draw unique and beautiful pieces of art.  He also made some of his art pieces permanent by tattooing them for his family and friends.  Josh also spent time volunteering at the American Legion Post 161 where he enjoyed spending time with Veterans and assisting with the Post’s weekly Fish Fry.

Most of all, Josh will be remembered as a man who loved deeply, was extremely protective of others, and loved to show off his fun personality by making others smile and laugh, even when things were hard for them.
