Joshua David Campbell, 51, of Mishawaka, passed away on December 8, 2024, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was born in in Wiesbaden, Germany to Stephen “Terry” and Margaret “Maggie” Campbell on April 27, 1973, while his father was serving in the U.S. Army. Josh attended Penn High School and later furthered his education at Davenport College of South Bend. He worked as a forklift operator at Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics, a job he greatly enjoyed.

Josh is survived by his longtime companion, Julie Kruszewski of Mishawaka; his mother and stepfather, Maggie and Dale Denham; his father, Stephen “Terry” Campbell; and his siblings, Stephanie (Jay) Sickerott and Drew Denham. He is also survived by his niece, Sadie Sickerott, and three close cousins: Michelle Calentine, Jennifer Nelson, and Paul Campbell II. Josh considered Julie’s family his own, and is survived by her children, Catrina Bush and Jordan (Arturo Miranda) Miles; his grandchildren, Conner Pelis and Robert Allen Fisher; as well as Julie’s sister, Jennifer Ragozino, and her mother, Joann Kruszewski. Josh was very close with his grandmother, Velma Campbell, who preceded him in death.

The family is planning to celebrate Josh’s life at a memorial service in the Spring of 2025. Cruz Family Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.

Josh will be remembered as a man who lived life with a sense of adventure and a love for the simple joys, whether it was playing a round on the golf course, casting a line out into the water, or cheering on the Dallas Cowboys. Much like ZZ Top, Josh believed every girl was crazy about a sharp dressed man. Whether it was his sunglasses or shoes, Josh made sure every detail was on point.

A true people person, Josh had an easy way of making friends wherever he went. He was always ready to chat and made everyone feel like the most important person in the room. He never missed a chance to pick up the phone to check in on the people he cared about, just to see how they were doing and make them smile.

Josh was loud, outgoing, and always ready to share a laugh or a “one finger salute,” but above all, he had a heart of gold that matched his larger-than-life personality. He fought courageously until the very end, and even in his passing, he gave the ultimate gift as a donor hero, giving the gift of life to many others in need.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help with Josh’s medical expenses. To light a virtual candle, share a story of Josh’s life, or leave a message of comfort for his family, please follow the links provided on the Guestbook tab above.
