Kenneth James Grimes

Kenneth James Grimes, age 71, of Mishawaka passed on August 14, 2020 in Bremen, IN. Kenny was born on November 10, 1948 in South Bend to James and Louise Grimes.

Kenny honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. In his youth he was employed by Xerox and he retired from Penn Harris Madison School Corporation as a computer technology specialist, a career he enjoyed. He loved fast, cool cars especially his Datsun. He also enjoyed passing time watching sci fi movies. Many of his friends knew him as a computer guru, a photographer, a website designer. To his family he was a loving father, brother and grandpa.

Kenny is survived by his children, Paul Grimes of Goshen, Heather (Adam) Brinckman of LaGrange, Amber Brown of South Bend and Anne (Nate) Rodick of Osceola; his sister, Janis (Michael) Smith Of Mishawaka; his grandchildren, Kailee Grimes, Blaide Ferguson, Deserea Ferguson, Amberlee Brinckman, Breckin Brown, Lincoln Brown, Madden Brown, Lillian Rodick and Hannah Rodick, his nephew, Jason (Lisa) Smith and his close cousins Judy Truitt and Jill Donnelly. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Toni Raber and his second wife Cheryl Fielder.

In keeping with Kenny’s wishes there will be a celebration of life service from 1-3 pm Sunday, August 30, 2020 at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola.

Memorial donations in memory of Kenny may be made to the Australia Zoo.  The Grimes family would like to give a special thanks to Kenny’s extended family at Signature Health Care in Bremen for the love and kindness given to him over the last several years, especially his nurses Michelle, Kari, Jim, and his caseworker Audrey, as well as the staff at Aseracare Hospice for their love and kindness that was always given by his personal nurses.
