Kristin Marie Sharum

Kristin Marie Sharum, age 52 of LaPorte, passed away at NorthWest Health Porter Hospital on April 13, 2021. Kristin was born September 12, 1968 in Toledo, Ohio.

She leaves to cherish her memory her two sons whom she adored: Zachary Sharum and Justin Rockey, both of LaPorte and her siblings Shanna (Michael) Sharum-Plis of New Buffalo, Michigan and Brandon Smith of New Carlisle, Indiana.  Surviving as well are her step siblings Pamela (Roger) Rutherford of Brooklyn, Michigan and Harold Smith of Grand Rapids, Michigan, along with her nieces and nephews Ciara Smith, Audrey Proctor, Olivia Plis, Dan Binney, Don Binney, Joseph Sharum and Noah Sharum.  Kristin was preceded in death by her mother Charlatine Duffing and her brother Chad Smith.

Following Kristin’s wishes, the family asks that you remember her in your own special way.  Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Osceola, Indiana has been entrusted with her care.

Kristin was employed for many years as a social worker.  Kristin had a lifelong passion for music and in her youth sang often, much to the delight of her family.  She loved to spend time reading and her servant’s heart led her to help others both at her job and in her social life whenever called upon.

First and foremost, Kristin was a dedicated and loving mom to her two sons. She treasured her boys and embraced the moments she had with them.  Her life was a living example for them to follow, and she will be greatly missed.
