Laura Sue (Wood) Lefebvre

Laura Sue Lefebvre, age 59 of Wakarusa, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Elkhart General Hospital. Laura was born February 19, 1965, to the late Donald and Sarah Jane (Smith) Wood.  She was a graduate of Penn High School, and later earned her associate degree in Occupational Therapy from Brown Mackie College. Laura loved her job as an Occupational Therapist Assistant and was employed by several rehabilitation centers throughout Michiana where she dedicated herself to her job and her patients. She was highly respected by her co-workers and treated every patient with love and respect.

She is survived by her daughters Joanna (Shawn) Jenson of Syracuse, Indiana, Hannah (Corey) Emery of Plainfield, Indiana, Savannah (J.J.) Anglemyer of Wakarusa, Indiana and Sydney (McKay) Menzie of Bremen, Indiana along with ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  Surviving as well are her sisters, Beth Moss and Mary Georg.

Visitation will be held from 1-3pm Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola with a celebration of Laura’s life to begin at 3pm.  Cremation will follow and she will be laid to rest beside her parents in Olive Cemetery in Elkhart at a later date.

Laura was extremely fond of her grandchildren and always put the care of others before herself. She enjoyed helping anyone in need without expecting anything in return. Known for her great sense of humor, she brought joy and laughter to everyone around her.
