Maarten E. Sampers

On June 19, 2018, Maarten Sampers, the father of 3, grandfather of 4, little brother of 3, and friend of hundreds was called home to be with our Heavenly Father. Maarten had a heart of gold and would do for anyone, whether it be that young boy down the road whose bike tire was flat or that friend who needed his last dollar for that unpaid utility bill.

Maarten’s greatest joy was the moment he became a grandfather. With four of the wildest, busiest, most energized grands they kept busy. Leaving behind four grandchildren, Kingston, Shamar, Jakiah, and Princeton is going to be the hardest thing for him. That’s a fact!!      Survivors also include a partner, Helen Carles, three children, Brandon Davies (Nicole) of Elkhart, IN, Shane Sampers (Demarkus Gary), of South Bend, IN and Collin Sampers (Kim Ragsdale) of Elkhart, IN, two sisters, Barb (Mike) Miller, of Bremen, IN Ineke (Bill) Pratt, and one brother Robert (Diana) Sampers, all of Elkhart, IN and host of other family members including 2 nieces and 5 nephews. Preceding him in death were his mother and father, Ferdinand and Marie Sampers, and a nephew Scott Sampers.

Cremation will take place, and the family will hold a gathering in celebration of his life at noon on Sunday, July 29, 2018 in Baugo Creek Park, Osceola.   Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Osceola has been entrusted with his care.  To light a virtual candle, or leave a condolence in Maarten's memory, please follow the links provided on the "Tribute Wall" tab above.
