February 27, 1953 — November 6, 2020

Elkhart

Margaret Eleanor “Meg” McAllister, age 67 of Elkhart, passed away at Elkhart General Hospital on Friday, November 6, 2020.  Meg was born February 27, 1953 in Mishawaka, Indiana to the late Robert and Eleanor Lardon. She was a graduate of Mishawaka High School.  On July 4, 1996, she married James McAllister.  They recently celebrated 24 years and were making plans to celebrate their 25th anniversary in Hawaii.

James survives, along with her son Alex (Rachel) Trautman of Lansing, Michigan and their step-children Heather Carlisle of Elkhart, Ian (Michelle) McAllister of Mishawaka, and Sean McAllister of Camdenton, Missouri.  Surviving as well are five grandchildren and her siblings Sherry Aichele of Granger and Mark Lardon of Mishawaka.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother in law Fred Aichele.

There will be no formal services for Meg.  The family asks that you remember her in your own special way.

Meg was employed by Teachers Credit Union as an ATM processor for several years prior to her retirement at the age of 62.  In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling annually with her husband to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  She was also an adventurous soul who enjoyed walking on the beach, zip-lining and parasailing in Myrtle Beach and at the local zip line park at Rum Village in South Bend.  She was also an animal lover, especially her cats Kirby and Shadow.

Most of all, Meg loved her family, whether it was spending time with them going to the movies or just spending time together at home.
