Merle E. Reynolds, 94, of Goshen passed away peacefully at his daughter’s residence on March 7, 2023, at 6:52 am. He was born to Clarence and Bernice (Fleck) Reynolds on November 9, 1928. Merle proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War era and was honorably discharged in 1954. On July 2, 1990, he married Betty Lou (Falin) Reynolds. Betty preceded him in death on March 20, 2019.
Surviving are his children, Starlet DeLater and her husband Larry and Diane Rucker and her husband Wayne, as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Surviving as well is his sister, Wanitta and Dale Anglemeyer, and his brother and sister-in-law, Wally and Loretta Reynolds. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Debbie O’Connell, his brother, Bill Reynolds, and his sister Betty June (Reynolds) Miller.
Mr. Reynolds was employed as house painter and drywall installer for Lance Oman. In Merle’s younger years, he loved to dance and ski. Merle also loved watching sports, especially NASCAR, the Chicago Bears and Notre Dame Football. In his spare time, Merle enjoyed shopping at local Flea Markets and Amish Acres. Later in life, he enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles and driving his scooter.
The family will plan a celebration of Merle’s life at a later date. Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service has been entrusted with his care.
