Michelle Rene Slabach, 60, of Elkhart, Indiana, passed away on December 5, 2024, at Elkhart General Hospital. Born on May 4, 1964, in Yuma, Arizona, Michelle was the daughter of William Lloyd and Janet Elaine (Troyer) Weaver. A 1982 graduate of Jimtown High School, Michelle went on to pursue a career in computer technology. For over 13 years, she worked as an Apple employee, where she was known for her ability to assist and support customers with their technological needs. Michelle married Abe Slabach on September 23, 2017, in Elkhart. They shared their home with their three beloved fur babies, Max, Molly, and Sunny.
Michelle was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Abe; her two sons, Bryce William Metcalf (Rachael) and Nathaniel Alan Metcalf; her step-children, Taylor (Sean) Osowski, Victoria Slabach, and Zackary Slabach; her grandchildren, Isabella and Evelyn Osowski; her mother, Janet Weaver; her brother, Paul Douglas (Cindy) Weaver of Ocala, Florida; as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family. Michelle was preceded in death by her father, William Lloyd Weaver, and her son, Timothy Ryan Hughes.
Michelle was a kind-hearted and creative soul who brought joy to all who knew her. She had a gift for creating beautiful, thoughtful items, whether it was a diaper cake for a baby shower or a delicious strawberry lasagna for a family cookout. Her talents as a baker and cook were unique—she once wowed guests with a Harry Potter-themed sorting hat made from a cheese ball!
In addition to her love of baking and cooking, Michelle enjoyed swimming in her pool, getting her nails done for every holiday, and spending time with her family. She had a unique ability to make everyday moments special.
Services for Michelle will be held at a later date. Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Osceola has been entrusted with her care.
