Pamela “Pam” Sue Cabanaw, 59, of South Bend passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Pam was born on Feb. 21, 1964, to Dennis and Maxine (Horn) Perry. On June 4, 1993, in South Bend she married Leon “Mike” Cabanaw.
He survives along with their children, Ashley (Juan) Suarez, A.J. Cabanaw, and Jennifer Krueger, and grandchildren, Alexis and Aleena Suarez, and Aiden Krueger all of South Bend. Pam was one of seven children, three of whom survive, a brother, Rodney (Lesley) Perry, and sisters, Debbie (Randy) Heeter and Cheryl (Mike) Scott. She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Michael, grandchild Aubrey’ella Suarez, and siblings, Denny, Roy, and Paula.
Pam enjoyed being at home and found joy in spending time with her family, especially her grandkids, who were very spoiled by her. Pam also loved spoiling her dog, Mio who was a big part of the family as well. When she wasn’t with the family, Pam spent time shopping for shoes or boots so she had something to go with every outfit and every event she attended or watching crime shows, especially TruCrime.
The family has chosen cremation for Pam and will have a Celebration of Life for family and friends to visit is scheduled on Wednesday, Sept. 13th from 2-4pm at Cruz Family Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to Cruz Family Funeral Home to assist in expenses.
