** UPDATE** SERVICE TIMES ANNOUNCED FOR MRS. MILLER'S CELEBRATION OF LIFE. VISITATION FRIDAY, JUNE 2, 2023 5-7PM WITH A CELEBRATION OF LIFE IMMEDITATELY FOLLOWING.
Pamela Kay Miller, age 74, passed away peacefully with her loving family surrounding her on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at her home in Elkhart. Pam was born August 14, 1947, in Goshen, Indiana to the late Charles I. and Betty J. (Gaut) Miller. Following her graduation from Jimtown High School in 1966, Pam married Richard L. Miller in Elkhart, Indiana.
Pam is survived by her husband of 55 years, Richard L. Miller of Elkhart and their children Douglas (Kimberly) Miller of Peachtree City, Georgia and Tina (Brent) Hill of South Bend. Surviving as well are her grandchildren, Chase (Lindsey) Miller, Skylar and Spencer Miller, Chance, Anna-Leigh and Braxton Hutton. Great grandchildren Koulsen and Boone Miller as well as four step grandchildren and 5 step-great grandchildren. Pam is also survived by her siblings Ricky Miller, DeAnne Gordy, and Kimberly (Tim) Young. She was preceded in death by her brother Charles C. Miller.
Friends and family may visit 2 hours prior to Pam’s 7 pm Celebration of Life on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Cruz Family Funeral Home, Osceola, Indiana.
Pam was a homemaker until the kids were in middle school and then she was employed for several years as a supervisor with Coleman Seating. In 1999, she and Richard moved to the greater Atlanta area and bought the Atlanta franchise of Auto Driveaway. Pam and Richard decided to retire and moved back to Elkhart in 2004 after selling the business to their son Doug.
Pam was extremely fond of her family, especially her grandchildren. Until her health declined, you would find her attending their extra-curricular school and sporting events. Pam’s house was the gathering place for many family holidays and events where all of the kids, grandkids, siblings, and their extended families would gather to eat, play cards, board games, dominoes and penny ante poker until all hours of the night. Being a true Hoosier, Pam made sure both Doug and Tina knew how to play euchre before they hit junior high school.
The Miller family would also like to thank the staff at the Center for Hospice Care- especially nurses Laura and Shay, for their exceptional care and concern for their family during Pam’s illness. Because of the excellent level of care given to Pam, the family also suggests donations be made to the Center for Hospice Care. Due to Pam’s love of animals, donations may also be made to the Elkhart Humane Society.
