Patricia E. (Turnock) Austin

Patricia Eileen Austin passed away Thursday evening, July 26. Pat was born in South Bend, IN on October 27, 1936, to Edward and Carmel Turnock. She has two surviving siblings JoAnn Wallace of Biloxi, MS and Michael  Turnock and his wife Shirley of Poway, CA and her sister-in-law Delores Turnock of Granger, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Edward Turnock Jr., and Larry Turnock Sr.  Pat graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1954.  Pat married the love of her life, Billy Austin on October 29, 1954. They shared a life of love for 52 years until Billy passed in 2006.

Pat is survived by two children John Austin, and his wife Denise, and  Cheryl Ashbaugh and her partner Tom Neeser.  Also surviving are three grandchildren, Nick Austin and his partner Jung Kim, Nathan Berkel and his partner, Kayla Morgan, and Colette Krauter and her husband, Tommy.  Pat also has five great-grandchildren - Jude, Juno, Jackson, Indy, and Monroe. Pat is also survived by Denise's two children, Kimberly (Keith) Clark and Michael Lynn , and grandsons Blaine and Keinan Clark.

Pat will be remembered for her kind heart, sense of humor, good cooking, and infectious laugh. She deeply loved her family, friends, and church. As a Mom, grandmother and friend, she was kind and understanding, always willing to lend a helping hand, a shoulder to cry on or to offer a prayer. She showered everyone around her with her love. She was a long-time member of the Osceola United Methodist Church where she and Billy enjoyed being involved in numerous church activities and projects over the years.   They cherished their many friendships and enjoyed countless, dinners, trips, and parties. Pat was an avid reader always sharing her latest book, and she loved studying the word of God.  She attended many Bible studies over the years, and her bible was always within reach.    She truly loved the Lord and drew great strength from her deep faith. Pat was also a talented painter, and her beautiful paintings grace the walls of many of her friends and family.  Pat worked at Miles Federal Credit Union and retired from there after many years of service.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm, Monday, July 30, 2018 at Cruz Family Funeral Home, 1109 Lincolnway West, Osceola.  There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the 10 am celebration of her life at the Osceola United Methodist Church, 431 N. Beech Road, Osceola on Tuesday, July 31, 2018.  Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.

We would like to say a very special thank you to the staff at Healthwin for the excellent care they provided Mom, and to the many friends, she made there who looked after her and loved her.

To honor Pat's memory, please reconnect with an old friend, make amends, say you're sorry, help someone in need, forgive, donate to a cause, or volunteer your time. Pat's legacy is her love, acceptance, and kindness to all; she didn't judge and accepted everyone for who they were.

Matthew 25:21   'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'

Rest in peace sweet Momma, we will forever miss your kind, and beautiful soul.
