Patricia Jean (Barnes) Hall

Patricia Jean Hall, age 98, passed away at Brickyard Healthcare on Saturday, December 24, 2022. Pat was born on January 18, 1924, to the late Cecil Paul and Alice (Price) Barnes. She was a 1942 graduate of Mishawaka High School and a graduate of Indiana University Bloomington. She taught elementary school for many years mostly in Penn-Harris-Madison.

She is survived by her son Jeffrey Hall, a daughter, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, her brother, Richard Barnes, and many nieces and nephews. A beloved daughter-in-law, Cheryl, and her parents preceded her in death.

Pat was a respected and revered teacher who was happy to help student and colleagues. She owned her home for over sixty years where she had a large garden and loved to cut her own grass. She also enjoyed sewing and took many different classes at Erica’s where the items she learned to make became gifts for her friends. She had fun during her travels to Europe and to different places in America. After retirement, she found time to teach “55 Alive” to other seniors. She also seemed to always have a unique recipe to share.

Cremation has taken place. A private service will take place at the cemetery at a later date. Pat thoroughly enjoyed the Sunday evening services Don led at Tanglewood Trace when she was there. He visited her often after she left for other homes.
