Patrick Arthur “Pat” Maloney, age 66, of Mishawaka, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016. Pat was born September 11, 1949 in Elkhart, Indiana to the late Robert and Mildred (Cripe) Maloney.
Surviving is his son, Marc (Jackie) Maloney of Mishawaka and his grandchildren, Evan, Bryce and Anna Maloney. Pat is also survived by his sister Mary Ann Maloney of Dunlap, Indiana, his half-brother Robert “Dan” (Janet) Maloney of Union, Michigan and his faithful dog, Harley.
Pat was employed as a body and paint repairman in the automotive industry for many years, and entered semi-retirement at the age of 62. He enjoyed spending time outdoors camping, but his greatest passion was coaching and mentoring young men on the baseball diamond. Pat dedicated over 35 years of his life for the love of the game, volunteering his time at the Edwardsburg Little League. During his time there, he served as a coach, manager, umpire, board member and past President of the league. He also served Milton Township as the Township Trustee from 1980-1987. In his spare time, Pat enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He and his son Marc enjoyed riding together and sharing each other’s company on several journeys.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Zimmerman-Inman Funeral Home in Osceola. Rev. Terry Fisher of the St. Joseph Catholic Church will officiate the 10:00 am funeral service on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Zimmerman-Inman Funeral Home in Osceola with interment to follow in Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen.
In his memory, donations may be made to the Humane Society of St. Joseph County.
