Rachel Ruth Ogden

December 31, 1925 — January 21, 2017

Rachel Ruth Ogden, age 91 of Mishawaka, Indiana went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at her home in The Waterford at Edison Lakes. Rachel was born December 31, 1925 in Junction City, Kansas to the late Charles and Clara (Brenner) Zoschke. On May 29, 1959, she married Richard “Dick” Ogden in Hollywood, California.
Dick survives, along with their children Rick Ogden of Rapid City, South Dakota and Carla (Dave) Farrell of Granger, Indiana. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Hudson, Alyssa and Cameron Farrell, all of Granger. Surviving as well is her brother Gordon (Joan) Zoschke of Junction City, Kansas. Rachel was preceded in death by her daughter Becky Ogden and her siblings Charles Zoschke, Betty Carpe, Marvin Zoschke, and Wilhelmina Zoschke.
There will be a celebration of her life on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Mark Missionary Church, 55240 Bittersweet Road, Mishawaka, Indiana 46545. Zimmerman Inman Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Before meeting Dick, Rachel served as a missionary for several years in Chile. She loved being a Pastor’s wife, and helping with her husband’s ministry for more than twenty years. Rachel also worked outside the home as a part-time secretary. She enjoyed using her talents and abilities to play the piano, and leading children to Christ through backyard child evangelism and bible classes.
Most of all, Rachel loved being a homemaker and spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. Her gentle spirit and compassionate nature led her to share her faith in the Lord with those she would meet.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Ogden family.
