Raymond R. Wiskotoni, age 82 of Elkhart, passed away at Elkhart General Hospital on the morning of June 10, 2021. Ray was born July 9, 1938, in South Bend, Indiana to the late Ignatius and Bertha (Przybylski) Wiskotoni. After graduation from Washington High School, Ray enlisted in the US Army where he served honorably until his discharge in 1966. Following his time in the military, Ray graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in finance. He later worked for Nickle’s Bakery for many years where he mastered a variety of positions before retiring after 20 years of service.
Surviving are his children Michael (Heidi) Wiskotoni of Edwardsburg, MI, Mark (Kristina) Wiskotoni of Elkhart and Amy (Steve) Smith of Edwardsburg, MI and his grandchildren Kylie, Austin, Courtney, Brandon, Bret, Alexis, Brandon and Dane. Surviving as well are his great-grandchildren Logan, Alayna, Kayden, Paxton and Addison. He was preceded in death by his siblings Dan Wiskotoni, Alice Richmond, Joseph Wiskotoni, Florence Bella, Bert Wiskotoni, Norbert Wiskotoni and Gertrude Stasiak.
There will be a celebration of Ray’s life at the American Legion Post 308 in Osceola on Saturday, July 10, 2021 from Noon -4pm. Cruz Family Funeral Home of Osceola has been entrusted with his care.
Ray enjoyed the simpler things in life. He loved spending time outdoors walking his favorite dog Acea, hunting for mushrooms in the woods, and spending time in his sanctuary- the garage of his home. He also was an avid fan of Notre Dame football and served as an usher at the stadium for over 30 years. He was also a longtime member of the American Legion Post 308 of Osceola.
