Rex Campbell, 74, passed away on January 8, 2024 in Elkhart, Indiana. He was born in Muncie on February 10, 1950 to Francis and Mary Campbell. Rex is the youngest of five boys, Larry (Mona), Wayne (Connie), Dean (deceased) (Mary Lu) and Richard (Lori).
Rex spent his first six years on the farm near Gaston and then his parents moved to Muncie. In Junior High he played football, and later in High School played baseball and basketball. After graduation Rex attended Ball State University. Rex's Father passed away when he was a teenager and he pledged to take care of his Mom until she passed. He did with loving care.
Rex held several jobs in Muncie including the local Pepsi Cola and Seven Up companies. He was always a loyal and devoted employee wherever he worked.
In 1990 Rex moved to Elkhart to work for his brother Dick in the self storage business. Rex never married but enjoyed the large Campbell family. He especially loved Christmas and you could always expect a special card and gift.
Having played sports as a youth, Rex later was passionate about following college and professional baseball, basketball and football. Indiana University basketball, Notre Dame football and the Chicago Cubs were his favorites.
Rex was certainly a "people person" and his smile and sense of humor will be missed by his family and friends.
