Betty survives, along with their children Debra (Jim) Whetstone of Granger, Richard Lee (Dorothy) Everts of Franklin, Ohio, Patricia (Steven) Konstant of Greenville, South Carolina and Randal (Laura) Everts of Englewood, Florida.  Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  Dick was preceded in death by his brothers Dean and George Everts.

Dick was employed for over 30 years with the US Postal Service as a clerk, retiring in 1990.  He enjoyed spending time with family and friends at Shavehead Lake, traveling to Florida, bowling in mixed doubles league with his wife Betty, and eating sweets; especially cookies!

Dick remained active throughout his life and enjoyed playing euchre, ping pong, shuffleboard and golf, but most of all, Dick will be remembered as the cornerstone of his family.  His faith in the Lord was strong, and he showed his compassion to others through his generous and giving nature.  It was said that Dick “never met a stranger.”
