Ricky Lee Campbell, 59, of Bremen entered eternal rest, on Friday, June 28, 2024, in Goshen. He was born on October 9, 1964, to Pearl and Joann (Mullins) Campbell in Royalton, KY and later married Virginia Peters on September 3, 2003.
She survives along with their children Crystal (Jon) Fox of Bremen, Kimberly Campbell of South Bend, and Melissa (Brandon) Banicki of Nappanee; seven grandchildren Morgan, Gabriel, Olivia, Hannah, Journey, Pryor Rain, and Lily, and seven siblings, Steve, Scott, Mike, David, Bessy, Clifford, and Sylvia also all survive. He was preceded in death by his father, and a son Adam Nicholas Campbell.
Ricky cherished every aspect of the outdoors. An enthusiastic fisherman, he enjoyed hunting for ginseng and mushrooms and vacationing in the scenic woods of Tri-County. Being in nature brought him immense joy, and he often spent hours searching for and collecting intriguing trinkets with his trusty metal detector. Ricky also had a special place in his heart for family visits, particularly when it meant indulging in his mom’s homemade biscuits and gravy. In addition to his outdoor adventures, Ricky was a devoted fan of old westerns like Gunsmoke, finding great pleasure in watching them and sharing the experience with his family. The simple joys of nature, family, and classic television were the cornerstones of Ricky's happy and fulfilling life.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place with burial to celebrate a life well lived next to his son, Adam at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Elkhart County Humane Society.
