Robert Bruce Bailey, age 58 of Bristol, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday morning, October 25, 2020. Robert was born April 6, 1962 in Long Beach, California. Following his high school graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy where he served honorably until his discharge in June of 1980. On July 3, 1981, he married Lisa Pogue in Midlothian, Texas. They recently celebrated 39 years of marriage.
Lisa survives, along with their children Kyle Bailey and his wife Kelly of Mishawaka and Gabby Bailey of Bristol. Surviving as well is his mother Marge Briski of Elkhart and his siblings Dee Brandel and her husband Steve of Ohio and Phil Briski of Elkhart. He was preceded in death by his step-father John Briski, and his son Daniel James Bailey in 1996.
There will be no formal services for Robert. The Bailey family asks that you remember him in your own special way. Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service has been entrusted with his care.
Robert was employed as an over the road truck driver and had various duties with several manufacturing companies in the greater Elkhart area before taking a position as a mix operator at Bimbo Bakery in Elkhart for the last few years.
In his younger years, Robert enjoyed scuba diving and playing video games and loved building models. He also was passionate about nature and cooking and loved to research and learn about State Parks throughout the United States. He also loved watching documentaries about WWII. Spending time outdoors fishing and hiking were two of his favorite activities. Robert was also an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers.
